How I've Missed You (tags: Bruce)

Cassandra entered the library hesitantly, it was one of the rooms she had been saving for last, her eyes swept the room with some awe. She knew Barbara would like this room, after all she had been the one to teach her how to read and write. Running a hand along some of the spines, she started to smile...a long time ago she would have wondered what secrets were contained in such mysterious packages...but now she knew. She pulled a book out at random even as her every move was careful and decisive, she was always careful...no matter where she was.

Bruce was sitting in the library, by a roaring fire. He was contemplating what happened with Hannah when she had died...

How she was brought back and healed to full health... No longer having cancer... The only thing he saw close to that was the Lazarus pits that Ra's Al Ghul and his daughter have used. Only thing was she didn't go crazy when she was revived... She seemed more alive and free then she was when he first met her...

He heard a noise in the library from one of the shelves, but chose to put it back to his mind, knowing students would come in here every so often. That didn't mean he wasn't paying attention to it... it just wasn't that up front in his mind.

Cassandra heard a rustle nearby and her entire body went on the alert, knowing that there could be other students she chose instead to take her book. Leaving the shelf she had been standing by she froze when she saw a familiar silhouette, "Bruce?" She whispered in shock....seeing him there, made her realize just how much she had missed him.

Bruce looked up when his name was spoken, before his eyes widened in surprised to see Cassandra. He slowly stood up and watched her for a moment. "Hello, Cassandra." He said, with a bit of a small smile.

Cassandra's smile widened, though she didn't hurry forward to hug him....she wasn't sure if he would appreciate that. "Its been a long time." She said quietly as she studied him with thoughtfulness, something seemed different about him....she couldn't place what that was though.

"It certainly has been." He said, watching her. "...How have you been?" He asked, after a moment.

Cassandra looked down, "Good....better at least, and you? You seem different, is everything all right for you?" She asked hesitantly as she looked back up to study him.
